January 26 , Australia Day
The January 26, of 1788, eleven vessels with 1,400 people on board, mostly British, also an American, French and African, commanded by Captain Arthur Phillip arrived in the Sydney Bay. A few days before the expedition landed in Botany Bay (New Wales) was the intended first point but captain Phillip did not see with good eyes the port and decided to continue, reaching the Sydney Bay. I settled there. From that day, January 26 is considered day of Australia.
